June 20, Friday

20.00       Festival opening

Municipal square, Nida, Taikos 2

Appearing: folk group „Giedružė“ /Nida/; „Bova Nova“ /Madeira – Portugal/; folk dance group „Kalnapušė“ /Nida/; folk group „Joldija“ /Nida/;  „Vratitza“,  /Bulgaria/.

21.30       Procession to the sea, participants getting acquainted, setting the sun.

 

 

June 21, Saturday

13.00       Trade fair presentation.

Municipal square, Nida, Taikos 2

14.00       Culinary legacy presentation.

Participants of the festival prepare tables with traditional meals of their region.

16.00       „Everyone dances as they  can“ – folk dance lessons.

Appearing: Vytautas Magnus University folk dance group „Žilvitis“ / Kaunas/; folk ensemble „Verdainė“ /Šilutė/;  folk ensemble „Mėguva“ /Palanga/; russian folk ensemble „Kupava“ /Zelenogradsk – Kaliningrad district/.

19.00       Folk group‘s concerts in cafes

Cafe „Kolibris“ Naglių str. 14, Nida – folk ensemble Mėguva“ from Palanga.

Cafe „Pašiūrė“ Naglių str. 20, Nida - folklore of the littoral region performed by ensemble „Verdainė“ from Šilutė.

Cafe „Laumė“ folk group from Marijampolė „Žibinyčia“.

Yard of tourism information center „Agila“ Taikos str. 4. Russian folk ensemble from Zelenogradsk „Kupava“.

Pas žveją Joną Naglių str. 6, Nida;Folk ensemble „Mingė“ from Klaipėda.

Cafe „Čili pica“. Dock of Nida. Dance ensemble „Žilvitis“ from Kaunas.

21.00       Concert „Kiek daug svetelių sugužėjo“(how many guests have got together).

Appearing: Folk dance ensemble from Kaunas Vytautas Magnus University „Žilvitis“. Traditional music and post folklore experiments.

Get-together „Ratai rateliai“.

Danceteque by folk group „Mingė“ from Klaipėda.

On a specially arranged stage near the dock of Nida.

 

 

June 22, Sunday

11.00       Seminar „Sun in lithuanian folk and St.John‘s feast songs.

Paper by Aušra Kavaliauskienė, PhD (hunanitarian sciences), head of ethnography department at history museum of Lithuania Minor.

Meeting hall of the municipality. Taikos 2.

12.00       Folk group „Joldija“ at the folk art fair.

15.00       Installation „Sun circle“.

Participants of the festival will be making the sun from natural materials.

17.00       Dancing classes - „Everyone dances as they  can“.

Appearing: folk dance ensemble from Kaunas Vytautas Magnus University „Žilvitis“, folk group „Žibinyčia“ /Marijampolė/, folk ensemble „Čiulbutė/Ignalina/, Famagusta folk dance association /Cyprus/.

21.00       Joint concert of the participants of the festival.

Appearing: Famagusta folk dance association /Cyprus/, folk ensemble Mėguva“ /Palanga/, folk ensemble „Čiulbutė“ /Ignalina/, folk music group of the Krikščiūnai family, russian folk ensamble „Kupava“ /Zelenogradsk/, folk group „Žibinyčia“ /Marijampolė/, folk dance ensemble from Kaunas Vytautas Magnus University „Žilvitis“, folk group fromNida „Joldija“ and folk dance group „Kalnapušė“.

June 23, Monday

17.00       Concert by the „Mėguva“ folk group ,,Jau sukrovėm kraitelį".

At the ethnographic fisherman‘s place. Naglių str. 4, Nida.

19.00       Closing of the festival.

Municipal square. Taikos g. 4, Nida.

Appearing:  Akragas – folk dance group from Sicily (Italy), Magec folk association from Tenerife (Spain).

21.00       Lithuanian TV program „Gero ūpo“ – final concert.

Stage near the dock of Nida.

 

 


Midsummer feast in Neringa

NIDA

 

21.00       March of the participants of the festival with torches towards Parnidis dune. Midsummer – St. John‘s day songs, rites, games.

22.00       Garlands are being released into the water, burning the hay sculpture „The rising sun“.  March with torches to the stage near the dock.

23.00       St. John‘s fire, good music, dances, searching for the fern flower.

 

 

JUODKRANTĖ

 

19.00       St. John‘s feast at the open stage of the L.Rėza culture centre.

Appearing: folk ensemble „Auksodis“ from Klaipėda, folk music ensemble „Sodžius“, folk ensemble of the L.Rėza culture centre „Aušrinė“, folk music group „Kuršininkai“.

After the concert there will be a fire show in the amber bay. Burning the hay statues created during the international sculptor‘s symposium.
