From May, 2000, Neringa town is associated with Burg town on Femarn Island (Germany). Frequently, cultural exchange is performed between the towns. In February, 2002, Nida male basketball team was invited for sports event, which takes place annualy in Burg town. Nida basketball team went to Femarn Island not only to play basketball. Together with current dance director of the group Rasa Valyte prepared a show program, where men basketball players performed Lithuanian national dance “Klumpakojis”. After successful performance at the festival, the men decided to invite their wifes to learn the dance. This is how national dance group “Kalnapuse”, where families are dancing, originated.
The group participates in various events of the town: In 2002, the members danced at the International folklore festival "Tek sauluze ant maraciu", on June 30 – July 6, 2003 they participated at the World’s Lithuanian Songs Festival.
On July 3, 2004, the group participated in the 12th American Lithuanian Dances Festival, which took place in All State Arena Rosemount, in Chicago.
