That is one of the largest lighthouses on Lithuanian seacoast. It was built in 1874 on the 51 meters tall Hill of Urbas (the height of the lighthouse then reached 27 m). During the years of the World War II it was blown up, restored in 1953, and later reconstructed. Current height of the lighthouse is 29.3 meters.
