In 1902–1903, a new red-brick school was built in Juodkrantė – a typical East Prussian building. In 2003, for the first time in 100 years, the purpose of the old school changed – the Juodkrantė Exhibition House was established here.
In 2007, the Juodkrantė Exhibition House was reorganized into the Liudvikas Rėza Culture Center. It hosts various exhibitions of contemporary art and old art by Lithuanian and foreign artists as well as history exhibitions; cultural events are organized: traditional festivals, commemorations of national holidays, concerts, evenings, meetings, lectures, conferences, educational activities for children and youth; various cultural and educational projects are carried out.
The Liudvikas Rėza Culture Center constantly houses a historical exposition dedicated to the outstanding personality of this region – Martynas Liudvikas Rėza and the history of Juodkrantė settlement.
