Location: Lotmiškio st 1, Nida
Shared by two countries - Lithuania and the Russian Federation (Kaliningrad region) - the Curonian Spit is recognised as a unique and vulnerable site of outstanding value by UNESCO. Due to its authentic natural beauty, the peninsula was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in December 2000.
To commemorate this date, a pyramid shaped monument by sculptor Gintautas Survila was built at the start of Lotmiškis street - a constant reminder to its guests and residents to protect and honour Curonian Spit cultural landscape.
