"Žiobrinės" returns with the first fish fillet championship in Nida

 

Žiobrinės in Neringa

 

On April 25–27, one of the most vibrant spring events – Žiobrinės – will take place in Neringa, inviting everyone to come together and enjoy the flavors. This traditional festival returns with a refreshed program: from grilling vimba fish over an open fire to Lithuania's first-ever Fish Fillet Championship.

Set off on a captivating tour of one of the most authentic and least disturbed corners of the Curonian Spit – Preila – and uncover its history with local guide Artūras Jakas. We'll visit the old Preila cemetery, climb the Preila dune for breathtaking views, explore the old fishermen’s harbor and its story, stop by the Preila library located in the former school, and visit the Preila rest house – a place full of unique atmosphere.

9:30 – Excursion from Klaipėda to Neringa with free time at “Žiobrinės”
Embark on a unique journey through Neringa with experienced guide Ervidas Jakas – a former local fisherman turned professional guide who will share firsthand stories of the region’s history, traditions, and daily life.
We’ll visit Juodkrantė to explore the Amber Bay, the Villa Quarter, and the Stone Sculpture Park. Free time in Nida from 12:00 to 14:30, followed by a trip to the Parnidis Dune and other fascinating sights.
The bus departs from Klaipėda, Taikos Ave. 61, next to the entrance of the "Akropolis" ice arena, in the bus parking lot.
